Christmas in July
A mid-summer Chamber tradition — part scavenger hunt, part grant program — built to shine a light on member businesses all July long.

Every July, Richie the Elf trades the North Pole for the Northern Neck and turns up somewhere around Richmond County — hiding out at a different Chamber member business. Guess where he's stationed on the Chamber's Facebook page for a chance to win daily prizes.

It's a playful way to send foot traffic and attention to the businesses hosting him, and a mid-summer excuse to check the Chamber's Facebook page daily for clues.

The Christmas in July Grant
Up to $2,000
Each July, the Chamber puts real dollars behind the season — a matching grant program to help members invest back into their businesses. The Chamber will match up to $2,000 for business "improvement" expenses like furniture, equipment, or signage.

Payroll and standard operating costs (utilities, rent, mortgage) don't qualify. If you've already purchased the item, include a receipt with your application; if not yet purchased, include a cost estimate. The Chamber approves funding for up to half of the total expense.

Up to $2,000, covering up to 50% of the expense
Winners Announced
At the Chamber's August Board meeting
